We don't assign a general guide to whatever trek you've booked. Before your departure, we confirm that your guide has led this specific route a minimum of 4 times in four deferents season's of the year. Our guides have the knowledge to choose good places for lunch and overnight accommodation. Our guide knows the history of the valley, local culture, people, and natural challenges aftracal.
You speak with your guide before you commit to anything
Most trekking companies assign a guide after payment. We introduce you to your guide during the enquiry process, before you've confirmed, before you've paid. If it's not the right fit, we find someone better suited. You should know who is responsible for your safety at 5,000m before you get on the plane.
The price we quote is the price you pay
Trek Only and Full Journey pricing is laid out on every trip page that shows what's included, what isn't, and what upgrades cost if you want them. No permit processing fees are added at checkout. No "single supplement" is mentioned for the first time when you arrive. If something isn't included, we say so upfront. 16 years of operation have taught us that hidden costs destroy trust faster than anything else.
We are small enough to know your name
Advent Himalaya runs some departures a year, not many. Baburam knows the name of every client who has trekked with us in the last twelve months, and most of the guides do too. When you message us, a person answers not a queue, not a bot, not an overseas customer service team. Our WhatsApp is answered within 10 hours during business days; otherwise, within 24 hours.
Family-owned means something specific here
Baburam started this company in 2009. His [family member relationship — son/daughter/brother] is now part of the team. The guides who have been with us the longest have been here for many years. We are not a platform that aggregates local operators. The people you communicate with before the trek are connected to the people who will be on the trail with you.
When something goes wrong, we don't disappear
Across 17 years of operation, things have gone wrong on the trail; a client needed helicopter evacuation, a permit was held up on a public holiday, and a flight to Lukla was cancelled for three days running. We tell you this not to alarm you, but because the companies worth trusting are the ones that have handled real problems and can tell you honestly what they did.
